Mentorship

Jenny offers 1-1 professional mentorship and case consultation. Jenny draws on years of clinical experience in pelvic health Physiotherapy, participation in over 30 continuing education courses, experience as a teaching assistant for Antony Lo and Pelvic Health Solutions since 2018, and being a course developer and instructor of three research-based continuing education courses. Approach

Jenny takes a client-led, research-informed, biopsychosocial approach to clinical practice, just as she does when mentoring. You identify the goals of each session and any topics or questions that you wish to review.

Jenny’s goal through mentorship is to support you as you build off the knowledge and skills that you already possess to best serve your clients and your clinical practice style.

Format Virtual video or phone consulation at the length and frequency of your choice. This can be 1 session or multiple sessions, whatever serves your learning best!

Examples of mentorship sessions that clinicans have utilized in the past:

– 1 hour session to discuss challenging clinical cases 2+ times per year.

– 1 hour session to review pessary fitting set up in clinic and review key concepts from the pessary course material, then another 30-60minute check in after initial pessary fitting trials with clients.

– 1 hour session to discuss/review current research about POP or SUI to inform post-secondary education thesis topic.

– 30minute session to gether information about pessaries or exercise/movement modifcations for pelvic health before deciding to pursue the full external approaches course or pessary course

Cost: $150/hour billed in 15 minute increments, 30-90 minute sessions

In-Clinic Shadowing

Clinians who have taken the pessary course (or equivalent) have the opportunity to shadow pessary fittings or follow ups with Jenny at All Things Pelvic Physiotherapy and Pessary Clinic in Kitchener, Ontario. Shadowing involves ‘fly-on-the-wall’ quiet observation of client sessions*, with the opportunity to discuss aspects of the client case after the appointment with Jenny. 

Format Usually 1-2 30minute follow ups and 1-2 pessary fitting appointments (1.5-3 hours of shadowing time) + at least 30minutes of discussion/mentorship is recommended. 

It is assumed that shadowing clinicians will not observe the vulva/introitus unless the client gives express consent for this, meaning clinicians can sit within the room but at the head of the bed to respect client privacy. Shadowing clinicians will not be performing pelvic assessments or pessary fittings themselves.

*Note: Clients are asked before the agreed upon shadowing time if they give consent to the shadowing clinician to attend their appointment, however clients can withdraw their consent at any time without notice and therefore shadowing cannot be garunteed. If this occurs, you would only be charged for the time that you were shadowing in the room with patients or discussing cases with Jenny.
